FirstPersonMod_1588_1247960613

Ever wonder what it would be like to terrorize the streets of Liberty City from a first-person perspective?  Wonder no longer.  Thanks to a mod created for the PC version, you can experience it yourself.

From this new perspective Liberty City definitely looks more alive.  Minute details are more visable as even the inside of a Burger shot looks impressive while weapon fire effects are closer, thus more noticeable. It’s obvious from this youtube video that combat and driving are more challenging.

For those not already sick of my blue T-shirt, here’s another video interview direct from gamescom. I managed to get five minutes with Zach Wood, Senior Producer of Sorcery, which is being developed between SCEA’s Santa Monica Studio and The Workshop.

For the past couple of months I’ve tried to become an elite jetfighter pilot: dogfighting, bombing targets from amidst the clouds, shadowing stealthy enemies – I’ve done it all. Not in real life though, I’m actually Sorin Muresan, a Community Developer working at Ubisoft Romania. In doing my job I get to rub elbows with the devs and talk with the fans, write news, capture screenshots and videos, organize events and, hardest of all, I have to play a lot ..read the full article

Everyone has a different idea about how to modernize a classic series. Some believe that 3D graphics and gameplay are the way, while others feel that more polished visuals will do.

By now, SEGA’s attempts at revitalizing the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise (at least in the eyes of older fans and critics, as the games still manage to sell well to a younger audience) has recently taken a turn to look at both ways, with the fully-3D Sonic ..read the full article

Walking around shows like gamescom, talking to journalists and developers, you pick up on certain ‘buzz phrases’ each time, and this year, one of those was “MotorStorm Apocalypse in 3D”.

Those that had played it were encouraging others to do so with anecdotes of physically ducking out of the way as a racing truck tumbles towards them. The other big news for the boys from Evolution Studios last week was that they were showing the first new track since the game’s ..read the full article

gamescom 2010 is over but our coverage on the PlayStation Blog is still in full swing. I managed to capture several interviews that there simply wasn’t time to publish last week so we’ll be spreading them throughout this week, starting with Media Molecule’s Alex Evans, talking about the highly anticipated LittleBigPlanet 2.

Just when I thought MM had spilled all the beans on the sequel to one of the most lovable games on PlayStation 3, Alex hit me with a bunch ..read the full article

There’s no Friday Debate, as such, as it seems a good time to round-up the week that was gamescom. There have been plenty of big announcements but, for me, gamescom is always about seeing thousands of excited gamers swarming around the PlayStation booth and playing the best upcoming games. If you weren’t able to attend, here’s a video your of the PlayStation booth featuring me, stumbling around like a dizzy clown.

If you haven’t seen the new Metroid: Other M TV Spot, then what are you waiting for? It seriously is one of the most awesome TV Spots for a game I’ve seen in a while. The trailer is more than a little reminiscent of Halo 3 and Gears of War Trailers, with a dismal, slow-motion backdrop overlaid with narration and sad music. Just because the trailer’s style isn’t new, however, doesn’t mean it isn’t amazing. If you weren’t excited for ..read the full article
