Two Swedish game retailers, Webhallen and the localised version of ‘GAME’, have listed Far Cry 3 for release in “2010″.
The listing on GAME’s website simply notes: “Rumor says that this time the game will be played out in Africa but with an even larger world and with a completely updated Dunia engine.
“More information will follow closer to launch.”
Although both retailers list the game for 2010, we’ve not had any confirmation of this news. It seems odd for the game to ..read the full article
While Mortal Kombat co-creator and NetherRealm Studios lead Ed Boon recently spoke with Kotaku about the lengthier development cycle the 2011 installment in the series has been afforded and what may come next, there is a fascinating rumor surrounding what may await fans this holiday season.
Recently, a group of four European video game retailers had reportedly added a pre-order listing for a game called “Mortal Kombat Kollection,” scheduled for a November 2010 release on the PlayStation 3, with ..read the full article
Ever hear of a title called This is Vegas? If you haven’t, that’s ok…not many people have. It’s a game under development by Midway games. Despite rumors of it being cancelled last year when Warner Bros bought Midway, WB insisted that the title wasn’t cancelled.
That is, until now. According to a source from GamesRadar.com, the game has been canned…and it cost the developer $50 million before it was. “It’s a ridiculous waste of money,” said the anonymous source, “a silly budget ..read the full article
This is in the thickest and most dubious part of the rumour jungle at the moment, but Batman fans may be interested to know that some UK retailers have listed a previously unheard of Batman game entitled “Gotham City Imposters” for release next January.
The game is listed to release on the 14th of January 201 for Xbox 360. The game’s title could be alluding to this Batman comic- but as far as we know at this point, the title ..read the full article

Peter Molyneux is known for breaking video game taboos, and making games that are outside of the box; looks like he’s at it again. Ever since the Mario Bros. days, we’ve been trained that things come in threes: jump on a bosses head 3 times, for instance, and he’s done for. We expect trilogies: Halo, God of War, etc. However, looks like the Fable franchise might just change all that.
“I’ve never understood this obsession with trilogies, I love making and ..read the full article

While Sony hasn’t announced or mentioned the PSP 2 publicly, apparently a few developers were able to get a private demonstration at Gamescon this week. Eurogamer reports that several unnamed publishers have reported seeing the incomplete PSP 2, with first party games running on it.
The publishers all estimate the handheld to be roughly the same size as the PSP-3000, with a “rich and detailed” screen, but the biggest feature were the touch controls, which are placed on the back of ..read the full article

The other day Ripten ran an editorial titled, “Is APB Already Dying?” Well it appears that we may have been more right than we knew.
The BBC Reported today that RTW has gone into administation (bankruptcy) and is seeking a bailout from anyone who is willing to invest in what is left of the company.
Joint administrators have been appointed and a consultation process on the future of the firm is under way. APB was five years in development but is thought ..read the full article
Nintendo has expressed in the past that they have no interest of getting into the cellular phone business with their line of DS handhelds. Of course, that would seem natural; after all, they have had no trouble moving the devices as they are.
Sony, on the other hand, may be a different story. Their handheld, the PlayStation Portable, has played a steady runner-up to Nintendo’s success, and Kotaku recently ran a story depicting a decline ..read the full article
Time has done few favors for Microsoft’s Kinect peripheral for the Xbox 360. When it debuted at the company’s E3 presentation last year, it seemed incredible. But as time continues to march on, it seems more and more chinks have appeared in the device’s controller-free armor.
Early on, it was boasted as a veritable miracle machine, able to detect body movements, recognize voices, and engage the entire family. All that for what was rumored to be ..read the full article
Duke Nukem forever is now a legendary title, mostly because it has been worked on since 1997 but never released. Hopes of the game ever surfacing were crushed when 3D Realms, the developer of Duke Nukem 3D, was disbanded last year. However, all hope may not be lost.
According to Kotaku, the title is now in the hands of Borderlands developer Gearbox. This is great news for anyone holding out for the Duke’s return: an amazing studio that’s made several bestselling ..read the full article

If you’re like me, you can’t wait to get your hands on Killzone 3, and it looks like Guerrilla Games can’t wait to get it out. The Killzone 3 site was recently updated with a log-in screen for the beta of Killzone 3, but there’s no solid information about a beta otherwise.
Given that Sony is in Cologne next week, we’ll likely be seeing information about the beta sometime soon, but I don’t care about the info, I just want in ..read the full article
If you’re a PS3 owner, there may be some good news for you on the horizon. Amazon France recently had a listing for Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia trilogies show up and disappear. Other than the $54 price tag and November 2 release date, there’s not much else we can tell from the screenshot. Everything else is just guesswork. Judging from the past, though, Ubisoft may mimic what happened with the God of War Trilogy did last year, with upgraded ..read the full article

Earlier this week, Gearbox forum member Legendrew raided a recent PC patch and discovered a file containing extensive plot and character details for upcoming still unannounced Borderlands DLC. He then did what any red-blooded fanboy would do, and exposed it on the forums.
Unexpectedly, Gearbox did not retaliate. Legendrew’s post and thread were not deleated, nor did anyone try to refute or deny what he exposed. Gearbox Software president Randy Pitchford made these statements:
There are a few things there, but I think it’s like ..read the full article
