There are other games coming out this week but none come close to what FFXIII has to offer, well at least for me. Okay, now I gotta get back to playing. games-radar-ffxiii-10

The Square Enix online review embargo gets lifted tonight for all of the outlets covering the upcoming state side release, but GamesRadar’s perfect 10 review score got the red carpet 24 hour exclusive treatment. Funny how that works. I originally thought that they just said the hell with the embargo date but silly me … that never happens.

Final Fantasy XIII hits store shelves March 9th, but I hear that if you slip a GameStop employee 10 bucks they’ll give ..read the full article

ffxiii-50-60-no-demo-yet

A recent European PlayStation.Blog interview with Final Fantasy XIII Director, Motomu Toriyama, and Producer, Yoshinori Kitase, reaffirmed the total playtime of 50-60 hours we already knew about months ago, and talks about about the added missions (side-quests) in the game that add to the mix. When asked about the “sidequest” content specifically, they responded with the following:

We call them “missions”, rather than “quests”. During the second half of the story, when the characters go down to a place called ..read the full article

A Teaser trailer for the next installment of the Fallout series went up today. This game is currently in development by Obsidian Entertainment, as the franchise is currently on loan from Bethesda while they work on whatever it is they’re working on (Elder Scrolls 5?)

As you may or may not know, Obsidian was founded by former members of Black Isle Studios, including Feargus Urquhart and Chris Avellone; and as you may or may not know, ..read the full article

The combination of EA Games and BioWare has Mass Effect 2 reaching two million sales worldwide since its release this past Tuesday. EA wasted no time declaring the sequel the first “blockbuster of 2010″ in a press release that hit our box not long ago. BioWare co-founder, Ray Muzyka, stated the following:

msgpw psp

Here’s some details about a PSP bundle (or two) for Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, the biggest PSP game since Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. They’re quite good. There is not much more to say.

The Sony deal will cost about $295, and includes the game, a camo-skinned PSP-3000, and a case. The more expensive Konami one will include some dog tags, a stand, and a booklet of some description. Neither are the most exciting things in the world, but they’re ..read the full article

pokemon hg and ss

Nintendo have today announced that they will be providing pre-order customers of Pokémon Heart Gold and Soul Silver with one of two Pokémon figures.

If you pre-order Soul Silver, you get the Lugia figure, which as you can see is a decent-looking figure. If you pre-order Heart Gold, you get the completely shit Ho-oh figure. That’s not to say the quality of the figure is bad, just that Ho-oh is the worst-named, worst-looking and just generally worst Pokémon in the ..read the full article

Hellgate Resurrection 600

HanbitSoft has finally made good on their promise. They’ve acquired the rights to Hellgate: London in North America and Europe, and intend to start up service in both territories later this year.

Two weeks from today, it will have been exactly one year since Namco Bandai shut down the servers, presumably for good, with only Korean service continuing on under HanbitSoft’s direct supervision. But according to a press release today, HanbitSoft has finally acquired the necessary licensing rights from Namco Bandai ..read the full article

amazon-ffxiii-10dollar

This is not the best deal you’ll find on Final Fantasy XIII. No, I’d venture to say that within weeks of release, you’ll find plenty of copies of FFXIII available at used games stores around the globe, after their owners have finished the reportedly linear-to-a-fault story and traded them in for the next big thing.

But if you must have a brand-new copy of Final Fantasy XIII, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better deal than the one going on at ..read the full article

starwars

Star Wars: The Old Republic has been hotly anticipated by nerds across the galaxy (myself included) since BioWare first announced the MMO in October of 2008, well over a year ago. When talking about Electronic Art’s fiscal year, EA CEO John Riccitiello may have announced that the game is aiming for a Spring 2011 launch.

“One key driver is going to be the launch date of our major MMO. As it stands today, the game is making great progress towards ..read the full article
