Steam is an amazing idea, and shows that the concept of the digital download can work and work well. However, with that success comes the danger of a glitch causing problems; and that’s exactly what happened over the last two weeks with Modern Warfare 2. Players were banned from Steam when their accounts were erroneously identified as cheating. The glitch occurred due to a “combination of conditions” that occurred while Steam was updating the disk image of Modern Warfare 2. ..read the full article
As if you needed any more proof that the general public will buy the same thing over and over without question, the preorder numbers for Call of Duty: Black Ops are outdoing even those of Modern Warfare 2.
Allegedly retail sources are noting that “pre-orders for Black Ops are outpacing those of Modern Warfare 2.” Pacific Crest Securities analyst Evan Wilson has placed his total sales estimate at 12 million (for reference, Modern Warfare 2 sold 16 million).

According to Crest Securities analyst Evan Wilson, pre-orders for Treyarch’s upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops are outpacing those of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Originally Wilson speculated that Black Ops would sell 10 million copies, but now he’s bumped his estimation up to 12 million, an increase of two million copies. I’m pretty good at math.
Each Call of Duty title has sold better than the title that came before it, but according to Wilson, that may ..read the full article

While the Land of the Rising Sun might not be the ideal market for first-person shooters, they do well enough, as evidenced by the Call of Duty series moving 500k units. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare sold 200k units on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, while its successor, Modern Warfare 2, sold 300k on Xbox 360 and PS3, making for half a million sales combines. While those sales may pale in comparison to sales in other parts of the ..read the full article
There’s a saying that good things come in threes, and as we approach E3, it’s pretty safe to assume that fake things will come in groupings much larger than that.
Sony PR Representative, Al de Leon told Game Informer earlier today that the supposed “leaked PS4 virals” making their way around the internet do not belong to them.
“I can confirm that this video is not from SCE [Sony Computer Entertainment]“, said de Leon.
At best, these ..read the full article
