activision-stomp-infinityward

If you haven’t heard yet, Activision escorted former Infinity Ward Studio leads Vince Zampella and Jason West out of their lovely office space bouncer style on March 1st, just a few short days ago. The publisher is reporting that the two were performing acts that they believe to be “breaches of contract” and “insubordination.” However, Jason and Vince have no plans of going down without a fight.

The two state that Activision hired a ..read the full article

Prepare yourself (and your wallet) for The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, the third installment of Borderlands DLC coming to Xbox LIVE on February 23rd (tomorrow), and the PC and PlayStation Network two days later on the 25th.

Size matters, and because 2K Games knows this, they are promising that this latest add-on will double that of the previous two, complete with new weapon classes, vehicles, and villains — oh my! Just how much will this gigantic heaping of goodness run ..read the full article

brink-logo-image

Have a look at four new screens from the upcoming Bethesda first-person shooter by developer Splash Damage. I maintain my opinion that the game has a very Team Fortress stylized look to it … which is in no way a bad thing. Check out the screens yourself and let me know what you think. I’m excited to play this one.

killzone_e3_500

According to the latest issue of PSM3 (via CVG), Killzone fans should be prepared to hear about the first details on Killzone 3 in the “next few months.”

In the latest rumor column of PSM3 it says,”expect more on Guerilla’s FPS sequel over the next few months.” Maybe a E3 reveal this summer? Let’s hope so.

There were rumors last year coming from the Official PlayStation Magazine stating that Killzone 3 was in development and could be out in 2010, so these ..read the full article

In a surprise move that shocked absolutely everybody and was expected by absolutely nobody, Activision confirmed that another Call of Duty game was not only in the works, but slated for this year’s holiday season. They also confirmed that new titles, map packs, and marketing for older titles were on the way, in an attempt to increase the series’s userbase.

darksiders-2

In a conference call that occurred earlier today, THQ CEO Brian Farrell, revealed several high profile sequels already in development. The list included Red Faction Guerrilla 4 as a fiscal 2011 release, with Darksiders 2, Saints Row 3, and a new IP titled Homefront underway as well.

Interesting news for fans of the aforementioned franchises. I’m curious to see if Vigil Games will be able to build on the foundation they have created in Darksiders. ..read the full article

Valve have today revealed the runners-up for last year’s TF2 propaganda contest, and they are officially brilliant. There are plenty of entries to look through, most in very high resolution, and all highly enjoyable.

Hit the link to see them. I think the TF2 community have really outdone themselves here. A lot of effort has gone into most of these, and it shows. Keep fighting the good fight, by the way. Play Demoman.

more plz

Counter-Strike’s getting on a bit now. It used to be the icon of PC gaming, with millions playing and thousands playing competitively, both at LAN events and online. Obviously it still has a following, but some loyal fans think the series needs a bit of a reboot to bring in new blood.

It’s nice to see CS players welcoming new blood in. Usually they’re thought of as elitists and obnoxious idiots, but they’re a minority now, it seems. I genuinely feel ..read the full article

LOOK THE SHADOW IS ON THE LEFT NOT THE BOTTOM THEREFORE YOU MUST CRITICISE THIS

Activision announced today that you can now try out the “lite” version of their somewhat popular iPhone zombie shooter. If you have an iPhone, you’ve now got nothing to lose by trying it.

I’ve not had a go on it yet, but it seems to have been well-received. It’s been consistent at the top of the charts on iTunes for a while too, although that’s more likely to be a reflection on the fact that the game has the words “Call ..read the full article

A post on the official Cult of Rapture blog has outlined the precise plans for the DRM of Bioshock 2 on the PC. “There will be no SecuROM install limits for either the retail or digital editions of BioShock 2,” the post notes, “and SecuROM will be used only to verify the game’s executable and check the date.”

The post also makes mention that the GFW Live activation limit is 15, which can be reset with a call to Microsoft. That’s ..read the full article

biosock 2

Bioshock 2’s system requirements have been published today, and guess what? Our little friend SecuROM is hidden away, cackling to itself in a way only the most evil beings know how. Alright, there’s no limit on installations this time, but honestly I won’t be happy until SecuROM goes away for good.

By the way, you can pre-order Bioshock 2 on Steam here. It’s 10% off, and comes with a free version of Bioshock (which you can gift to a friend ..read the full article

halo-reach-vga09

GameStop, also known to some as EB Games, has allowed a few Halo: Reach gameplay images to hit the web. Game Informer subscribers may or may not have seen some of these images already depending on whether or not they’ve got their copy of the gaming mag yet.
