You’re on the couch, plugging away at your BioShock 2 sequel and asking yourself how the experience could be better. It’s got more action, more options … sure, some may say that the story is not as good as the original, but how about a new DLC? See, you’re feeling better already.

Have a look at four new screens from the upcoming Bethesda first-person shooter by developer Splash Damage. I maintain my opinion that the game has a very Team Fortress stylized look to it … which is in no way a bad thing. Check out the screens yourself and let me know what you think. I’m excited to play this one.

A Teaser trailer for the next installment of the Fallout series went up today. This game is currently in development by Obsidian Entertainment, as the franchise is currently on loan from Bethesda while they work on whatever it is they’re working on (Elder Scrolls 5?)

As you may or may not know, Obsidian was founded by former members of Black Isle Studios, including Feargus Urquhart and Chris Avellone; and as you may or may not know, ..read the full article

darksiders-2

In a conference call that occurred earlier today, THQ CEO Brian Farrell, revealed several high profile sequels already in development. The list included Red Faction Guerrilla 4 as a fiscal 2011 release, with Darksiders 2, Saints Row 3, and a new IP titled Homefront underway as well.

Interesting news for fans of the aforementioned franchises. I’m curious to see if Vigil Games will be able to build on the foundation they have created in Darksiders. ..read the full article

bioshock

The latest episode of Qore, the PlayStation Network’s subscription based online magazine, reveals that Bioshock 2 will be at least 10 hours in length.

In a Bioshock 2 preview segment, Qore host Veronica Belmont said the following:

“At the start of the game, you wake up a mystery. And for at least the first ten hours or so, you remain a mystery.”

At first I wondered if she meant 10 hours in game time, but that really wouldn’t mean anything to us ..read the full article

nba-chemistry-cod-gaming

With each passing day, it becomes apparent to me (as it should you) that videogames are much more than they appear to be. Think of them as a wonder device capable of some day changing the world.

Jermaine O’Neal, a player on the NBA’s Miami Heat franchise, tells the Sun Sentinel that the team has built a “special brotherhood” during their latest seven-day road stretch of games. He attributes the strengthened bond between he and his teammates ..read the full article

As a special treat for PC gamers, Steam has been offering up fantastic game deals. Their holiday sale, which is continuing until January 3rd, is a great way to stock up on some great (and some not so great) games. Unfortunately for the masses of Prey fans, the game sold out.

Anyways, I thought it was impossible for digital distribution sites to run out of copies. Maybe they have a certain number of game codes? I’m not exactly sure. To fix the ..read the full article

halo-reach-biggest-2010

The Halo Reach footage flew across my screen moments ago, and while I can admit it that the shiny new in-game graphical treatment looked good, I just don’t see the best game of 2010 “by far” quality that Geoff Keighley predicted written all over it. With multiple sequels already under their belt, I’m curious to see what the team at  Bungie has planned for this latest installment. I’m not saying the game will suck, but I’m just not sold on ..read the full article

mirrors-edge-running-for-2

John Riccitiello, CEO of EA, confirmed that the DICE first-person shooter titled Mirror’s Edge is in development and will be coming back for seconds. In a recent interview, Riccitiello discussed not only the existence of the sequel, but talked a bit about the trial and error that comes with trying to be innovative.

“We’re still working through things like how to best deal with Mirror’s Edge 2 … There are some things we learned about that [first] game. It was, ..read the full article

brokebackwarfare

The latest chapter of Modern Warfare gay related news come from a recently discovered gay related Easter Egg conversation that takes place if you happen to leave the game idle in the starting area. While idle, a soldier walks into your vicinity and asks an unknown entity the question “Are you still gay? I’m kidding.” to which another voice responds “Don’t ask don’t tell bro.” The video can be seen below.

Look, while I agree with Adam Sessler’s comments regarding ..read the full article

medal-of-honor-zztop

EA announced a new “modern day” direction for their Medal of Honor franchise today. The upcoming sequel, simply titled “Modern W…whoops, Medal of Honor” will be set in a war-torn Afghanistan. In an interesting move, EA LA will focus on the single player aspect, while EA DICE will develop the multiplayer portion of the game.

Considering the success of Activision’s Modern Warfare series, this move to the modern day setting shouldn’t surprise anyone. That said, I like the look of the ..read the full article

Harrison Krix, a 27 year old graphic designer and kick ass prop maker living in Atlanta, built a giant replica of Big Daddy and waited two months before PR reps at the Georgia Aquarium allowed him and his girlfriend (dressed as Little Sister) to conduct a photoshoot at the facility. Was the wait worth it? You decide.

But first, have a look at some more of the in progress shots taken by Krix for a glimpse into how much work ..read the full article
