Over the past few months, we’ve been showing you how United Front Games is bringing the “Play, Create, Share” concept to kart racing with ModNation Racers. Today (via Gamespot), we announced that ModNation Racers will also be coming to the PSP as well – and at the same time as its big-brother PS3 edition (the exact street date is TBA).

I was down at San Diego Studios this week, where the team demoed Mod creation, Kart customization, full track creation, single ..read the full article

If you’re like me then you are literally counting down the days until Super Bowl XLIV and wringing your hands in anticipation of the 59th Annual NBA All-Star Game. You’re a hardcore sports fan that spends all of his or her spare time either sitting in front of the tube watching the game or (better yet) sitting behind your DualShock controller and playing the game. And the only thing better than being at home with an ice-cold beverage cracked, watching ..read the full article

Mercs Inc Concept 1

When Electronic Arts closed Pandemic Studios in November, the 200 employees they left in the wake weren’t particularly happy about the affair… but boy, has it been great for gamers eager to get their hands on leaked information about Mercs Inc, the unfinished game they left behind.

Now, what appears to be the first concept art for Mercs Inc. has surfaced at the website of former Pandemic staffer Tony Ianiro — a artist whose resume claims the game was slated for ..read the full article

crysis 2

EA have revealed to investors (and therefore the rest of the world) that their next lineup of games, which most notably includes Crysis 2 and Dead Space 2, will release in Fiscal Year 2011. Don’t see that date and feel like it’ll be a long time, however, since Fiscal 2011 runs from April 1, 2010 until March 31, 2011. Most likely these games will hit this year.

I’m looking forward to both of these games, particularly Crysis 2. I hope that ..read the full article

bad company 2

Recently, there was a Bad Company 2 Beta on the PlayStation 3. If you missed it, or only have an Xbox or PC, you might be issuing a series of expletives. Well, that stream may now cease, as the official Battlefield blog has confirmed that there will be, at some point between now and March the second, a demo.

I suspect this demo will be both single and multiplayer, since the demo for Bad Company 1 had both of these features. ..read the full article

nba-jam-back-in-session

A remake, or should I say “Wii-make”, of NBA JAM has been formally announced by EA Sports with a release date for the Nintendo Wii due sometime in 2010. NBA JAM was very popular in the arcades back in the early 90s, something I personally can attest for because I was there burning through quarters and eating crappy mall food. It’s gameplay was fast and highlight reel friendly, with ESPN style broadcasting antics that called out hot streaks, ..read the full article

Two images have surfaced today which are believed to be concept images of the upcoming Criterion-developed Need for Speed game. They both suggest that the game’s subtitle will be “Out of the Law”, one of the worst subtitles since “And the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”.

Obviously this is an unconfirmed rumour at this point. Don’t take this as proof of anything. I should say that I always feel a tinge of guilt when I post rumours. It’s like posting ..read the full article

battlefield-bad-company-2

Electronic Arts has begun it’s plan to gun down the Call of Duty series in terms of FPS multiplayer and it’s “first strong attack” will be with Battlefield: Bad Company 2, according to EA European boss, Jens Uwe Intat.

“In March we will launch Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which is our first strong attack on Call Of Duty,” he told MCV (via CVG) today.

“The shooter space is one we don’t want to give up. It’s an important genre and we ..read the full article

January’s Episode 20 is on the way, featuring eternal damnation, ceaseless precipitation, stylish decapitation and undersea exploration.

Hell is the last place you want to be—unless you’re impatient for the mythical adventure of redemption found in Dante’s Inferno. Veronica Belmont circles around EA to experience how the developer plans to bring the epic 14th century poem to life. There’s also an interactive quiz built into this episode that will determine your degree of sinfulness.

We’ve been keeping an eye on Heavy Rain ..read the full article

i know nothing about american football

It’s been 2010 for just about 3 days now. This of course means that EA will be closing down the servers for a whole host of games soon (February 2), including the recently released Madden 09, and NBA 09. So much for games lasting long into the future. Hit the jump for the full list of games to be axed.

tom-ben-nfl-wii-exercise-game

Electronic Arts has a new title on the way, one that’s supposed to be announced in January. The latest rumor from the internets is that the title is an NFL-licensed football trainer that will ship with a football shaped peripheral of some sort.

Sports titles make me cringe and the thought of “doing sports” in real life scares me, so I want nothing to do with this product, but EA must think that someone will want it, assuming this rumor is ..read the full article

burnout

No, this is not a satirical post. What I’ve written above is factual, assuming Criterion is not lying to us all. In a post from earlier this week, they share some details about what could’ve made its way into Burnout Paradise and those details include driving on the moon and time travel.

The plans start innocent enough, with some planes, helicopters, and boats. Criterion wanted players to be able to see Paradise City from the sky and complete in aerial ..read the full article

In a recent interview with CVG, Army of Two: The 40th Day producer Matt Turner said that, while he respects Infinity Ward for doing the infamous No Russian mission, they wouldn’t have done it themselves.

“You’re playing a CIA agent, it’s designed to show the atrocities. It’s pretty awful and if you fail to see that side of it than you’re not getting the whole picture. That being said, I thought it took it a little far; it was pretty ..read the full article
