Rockstar, the long running developers and publishers of perhaps one of the most controversial game series ever has announced that their handheld exclusive; Chinatown Wars, will be heading to the iPad on September 9th for $9.99 (USD).
Following the dismal sales of the game on the Nintendo DS and PSP due to piracy, Rockstar is hoping that the HD installation will appeal to a broader audience. The developer said:

Starting September 12, the Nintendo DSi and DSi XL will be available for $149.99 and $169.99 respectively, thanks to an official price drop for the platforms.
The handhelds have already had price drops in most other regions, so it’s good to see that it has finally happened for the American market.
The DS Lite remains at $129.99, however.
“We know shoppers want to get the maximum value out of every dollar they spend,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice ..read the full article

After a bit of a leak a while back, Harmonix has given in and released the full tracklist for Rock Band 3, and my, it’s a scorcher.
The full track list is below, and as you can see there are some brilliant songs in the game. Primus’ “Jerry Was A Racecar Driver” is an inspired choice (Primus sucks!), but there are some great songs from David Bowie, The Beach Boys, Jimi Hendrix, Faith No More, The White Stripes, and even Yes.
Batman: The Brave and the Bold, despite being geared towards younger audiences, is not a bad cartoon. As long as you don’t go in expecting the Dark Knight from, well, The Dark Knight, you can definitely enjoy yourself as they revel in the inherent campiness of the caped crusader.
The upcoming videogame adapation looks like it could easily be just as fun, especially when you consider it’s the same team behind the shamelessly fun and adorable A Boy and his Blob ..read the full article

PopCap Games have announced today that Plants Vs Zombies, their excellent tower-defence style puzzler, will be coming to the Nintendo DS in January 2011.
The game will launch at a suggested price point of $19.99, making it somewhat of a budget game (although it’s still expensive compared to the other version of the game). The DS version will contain all of the content from the other platforms, with a slice of extra DS content as well.

Since Nintendo revealed The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword at E3, people have been abuzz about the game. Some have spoken of the 1:1 motion controls, as well as the potential issue that presents for left-handed folk. Some have discussed the art style, and others the plot.
And some… have discussed Link’s pants.
Indeed, the passion some fans have for The Legend of Zelda is well-known, as they struggle with continuity and timeline theories to try and make ..read the full article

The section about “downloadable comment” has been updated.
About five days ago, during WWE’s SummerSlam weekend, THQ held an event for the press to see what sports-entertainment and video game fans everywhere could expect from the latest installment of their flagship franchise, WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011.
Though I was unable to attend this year, I’ve nonetheless managed to gather up a ton of info about the game. There’s a lot to cover, so getting right to it…

Many people out there criticize Nintendo’s online approach to gaming. For years I have heard people complaining about friend codes, lack of online options and more that plague Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. To this day it’s clear that there are several hoops that developers must jump through in order to get a decent game online and then there are also hoops that players need to jump through.
Despite all of these shortcomings I still feel there ..read the full article
Nintendo have finally announced the release dates for DK Country Returns, Kirby’s Epic Yarn, and a handful more upcoming games.
Kirby’s Epic Yarn, the game that fully deserves the word “epic” in the title, will be coming out on October 17, with Donkey Kong Country Returns hitting a few weeks afterward on November 21. As we know, Metroid: Other M will be coming on August 31, and Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem will be coming to DS on November 14.
Here at RipTen, we love Mario. Heck, who doesn’t?
(Don’t answer that, it was a rhetorical question.)
Personally speaking, I really enjoy Mario. He’s one of my top favorite video game stars/series, up there with the likes of Mega Man (and all his blue-hued ilk), Sonic the Hedgehog, and others. And even among those, Mario is near the top.
But that said… I have to admit, I have not played every game in which Mario has ever appeared. ..read the full article
Games for kids. It’s a simple, almost obvious concept which nonetheless manages to elicit a negative reaction from those who hear it.
If you are reading this, then you are probably an adult who grew up playing video games. If not… do your parents know you’re visiting websites like this?
In any case, back in the 80′s, perhaps even in the 70′s, video games were largely considered a pastime for children. Sometimes adults would play them, but ..read the full article

Ubisoft has revealed a pair of new titles based on the popular CSI television series, including one unique to the Nintendo DS. In fact, it sounds like they’ve decided to take this show… on the road.
And before we go any further, I have to apologize: it looks as though neither game is actually based on CSI: Miami, I’m sorry to say. Ubisoft’s press release boasted assets for the titles, but none were to be found, thus ..read the full article
