Ubisoft have announced that the demo for their upcoming strategy game R.U.S.E has been made available on Steam.

The demo is 1.5Gb in size, and contains a full mission, created specifically for the demo. You’ll have to “lead the U.S. Army in battles against Germany and Italy… Players must combine deceptive strategies and eventually resort to nuclear strikes to achieve victory.”

Kind of shot their load early- now I won’t have to buy the game to launch a nuke, just ..read the full article

MafiaII_wall1_1280x960

The Mafia II demo was released today, and I’ve finally been able to play it outside the confines of a 2k demo booth.  I had previously played this exact demo at E3 and Comic Con, but now I finally had the chance to load it up on my personal gaming rig.  It was time to see just how much effort 2k had put into making Mafia II, “that much better” for PC gamers.

As I fire up the demo and head ..read the full article

Good afternoon pilgrims, hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Over here in PSN land we have new goodies galore hitting our digital shelves later this afternoon.

As you can gather from the above image, our highlighted piece this week is the game based on the Scott Pilgrim film, which is based on the comic series, which riffs on (and is pretty much based on) popular culture and littered with many game references; don’t you just love ..read the full article

mafia 2 demo

2K have finally released the PC demo of Mafia II on Steam, which gives you ten precious minutes to play with a small part of the game’s city environment.

The game releases on the 24th August in the UA, with a 27 August release schedules for PAL territories- so there’s plenty of time to get playing the demo. I am unable to give you a test run of it right now, but now’s the time for you to check it out ..read the full article

what

The PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade demo for 2K’s upcoming Mafia 2 has been announced today by MCV as August 10.

The demo comes a few weeks before the game’s release in the UK on August 27 and in the US on August 24, letting you gear up for the game’s release (or, more likely, dick about) for a good amount of time before the release. If you’re a PC player, remember that you can get Mafia 1 for ..read the full article

Movie games suck, right? It seems like the bigger the budget the more destined they are to fail. By that logic, then, FPS Terminator must succeed. It’s a not-so little shooter project by The Original Studios based on the Unreal Engine. The game was originally just a mod and has evolved into a full-blown indie title at this point.

FPS: Terminator is set in the future world of the Terminator universe, after the machines have taken over. In the demo video, ..read the full article

Valve have announced today that the free weekend trial of the upcoming strategy game R.U.S.E. will be extended past the date that was initially set. You will be able to continue playing well into the week- or perhaps play for the first time if you’ve been away this weekend.

The original date that the trial period was set to end was the 19th of July, but Valve have said that the period will instead end “Wednesday, July 21st at 3PM PST.”

tera-online

TERA Online is proclaiming on it’s own website that it is “The First True Action MMO.”  And after watching the e3 demo which was recently released to the public, I must say that it looks as if it will live up to that tagline

I don’t usually get excited over MMO games, just something about the long grinds to get good gear seems stupid to me. However there have been two that I have been excited about. ..read the full article

Crackdown2Demo

If you’ve been plowing through the Crackdown 2 demo like I’ve been plowing through the zombie like creatures on the side of the video game roads, chances are you’ve gotten bored and need a bit of a challenge. Well Ruffian Games has heard your call and instated the “Ruthless” difficulty for the Crackdown 2 Demo.

If you’re laughing in the face of an increased challenge Agent, you can look forward to the Psychotic and Sadistic difficulties being unlocked respectively over the ..read the full article

kinectilols

Well that didn’t take long. I expected that Microsoft would make Kinect publicly playable sometime before its November 4th launch date, but I didn’t expect it to be playable so soon. As of today, you can go into any Microsoft Store across the country and try out Kinect for yourself. The catch is that there are only four Microsoft stores in the nation, including the newest one that opened in San Diego today.

Microsoft also made it clear that while you ..read the full article

The Crackdown 2 demo is pretty open as far as demos go. Instead of being able to play one mission, you can do whatever you want in the game- within the demo’s 30 minute time limit. However, with a recently discovered glitch, that 30 minute limit is no longer a restriction.

In order to access the glitch, you would have to remove your WiFi adapter (sorry new Xbox owners) at the exact moment that you say “Yes, this is the agent ..read the full article

crackdown2-demo-imp

Crackdown 2 is not a game best displayed in demo form. It’s the epitome of a sandbox title. Anakin Skywalker would hate it. In the demo, you’re plunked down into the game’s big, open world with a 30 minute timer ticking away. For me, this meant running around like a chicken with my head cut off, trying to take in everything. My first playthrough wasn’t great, but on subsequent trips to Pacific City I began focusing ..read the full article

mafia-2-demo-confirmed

After being in development for nearly three whole years, many fans are frothing at the mouth to get an early glimpse of the upcoming crime drama game Mafia II.

During Take-Two Interactive’s second quarter fiscal results conference call, Ben Feder, the proverbial Godfather of Take-Two, announced the following:

“In August, 2K will launch a comprehensive demo program on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, PSN, and the internet (PC), that will allow gamers to experience the game leading up ..read the full article

crackdown2-early-demo

A Microsoft Crackdown 2 Contest is underway, and the technically savvy Crackdown supporters unscaved by a little real world legwork can soon find themselves enjoying early access to the Crackdown 2 demo.

If you’re interested in taking part, you’ll need a smart phone equipped with the Microsoft Tag Reader application , a vivid imagination that transforms scanable codes into Crackdown Orbs, and some orb/code tracking know-how.

Assuming you’ve got that part squared away, the next thing you’ll have ..read the full article

backbreaker-inc

After completing the Backbreaker demo download on my Xbox 360 earlier today, I hunkered in for a virtual football session that lasted about an hour or so. My first impressions of the game, based on the limited demo access, is a very fun arcade style third person football experience.

If you take the time to go through all the practice scenarios the demo provides (and you should because these controls are nothing like Madden) you just ..read the full article
