spider-man-shattered-dimensions-600x337 “Look Out…Here Come the Spider-Men!”  The newly released trailer for Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is awesome!  What especially impresses is the different styles in art and gameplay shown for the four displayed playable characters.  It looks to be a promising return to the days of pre-movie Spider-Man Game webslinging fun.   The player will be able to control four versions of Spider-Man, spanning the Amazing, Noir, 2099, and Ultimate universes.  Each character has different moves, abilities, art-style and personality.  Because of the variety and ..read the full article

With Castlevania: Lords of Shadow getting ready to drop, it’s interesting to take a look at its rating: M for Blood and Gore, Nudity and Violence.  Did they just say “Nudity”?

“This is an action-adventure game in which players control a warrior named Gabriel as he battles the forces of darkness. Gabriel uses a bladed whip as well as large hammers, swords, spears, and axes to kill human and fantasy creatures (e.g., werewolves, vampires, goblins, demons). Combat includes depictions of repeated ..read the full article

If there is one Sony-exclusive property I absolutely love the most, it’s Ratchet and Clank. Since the first game came out for the PS2, I’ve played and loved almost every game in the series. That said, you can understand why I’m absolutely ecstatic that Insomniac and Sony are releasing Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One next Fall for the PS3.

All 4 One’s biggest feature seems to be the 4-player online and local co-op that it touts, along with having four ..read the full article

I think the two Summer of Arcade games that I’m most excited about are Monday Night Combat and Lara Croft & The Guardian of Light. Getting a TF2-style shooter on XBLA seems like a terrific idea, but getting an isometric, online co-op enabled Lara Croft game seems too good to be true. Oh, did I say online co-op enabled? I meant “local and local only for a month enabled”. Just a typo- the keys are right next to each other ..read the full article

Crystal Dynamics has announced today DLC plans for the upcoming release of the downloadable Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light with five different DLC packs.

The plan is to have all of the packs released by the end of the year, with all of them downloadable for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC versions of the game. Like a lot of gamers, I have a special place in my heart for The Legend of Zelda series. It’s nestled somewhere between the right atrium and the semilunar valve- oh hell, you guys don’t want to hear all my fancy science talk, of which I have a lot because of how smart I am. Let’s get on with the artwork!

While I haven’t yet finished Red Dead Redemption, I never even touched Red Dead Revolver. I didn’t really hear anything about the game before Red Dead Redemption was announced, and I never went back to play the original. As of August 10th, I probably won’t feel the need to, as Rockstar is bringing eight characters from Red Dead Revolver to Red Dead Redemption on both Xbox Live and Playstation Network.

The Legends & Killers DLC will hit PSN for $9.99 and ..read the full article

In a move that surprises absolutely nobody, Marvel and Sega are planning to release a Thor video game to coincide with the release of the film in Summer of 2011. While I have no information on the game besides the trailer to go on, if Iron Man & other comic-to-movie video games are any indication, this game won’t be so great.

The above trailer, released to Marvel’s YouTube account, doesn’t show off anything from the game itself, aside from a shot of ..read the full article

Here’s something rather unusual in the gaming world: Toy Story 3, a license videogame based on a family movie, has topped the UK gaming charts, pushing Rockstar’s critically acclaimed Red Dead Redemption to second place. Move over Marston, Sheriff Woody’s in town. Boogitah-boogitah-whaaaaa?

The game debuted at fifth place last week, before zooming to the top. It’s getting decent reviews, with the different ports hovering around the high 70s on MetaCritic. And don’t forget to check out the Ripten Review, which ..read the full article

spidey

Ultimate Spider-Man (in the symbiote costume) has been revealed as the fourth Spidey in the upcoming Shattered Dimensions, and we also learned of two new voice actors, Harris and Keaton.

We already new that Dan Gilvezan from Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends will do the voice of Spider-Man 2099 and Christopher Daniel Barnes from the 90s Spider-Man (my favorite) will do the noir Spider-Man.

At Comic Con we learned that Josh Keaton from The Spectacular Spider-Man will voice the younger Ultimate Spider-Man ..read the full article

DisneyEpicMikey

Warren Spector’s Epic Mickey is a highly anticipated titled that’s coming to the Nintendo Wii. Whenever any impressive looking title is announced as a Wii exclusive, there are moans and groans over the limited capabilities of the system. According to Spector, that’s a good thing.

When Gamasutra asked him if he’s had any trouble with the shortcomings of the Wii, Spector replied:

“Constraints always push you to be more creative. I mean whatever the constraints are, whether it’s the constraints of a ..read the full article
