Last week, people were left scratching their heads over Marvel: Ultimate Alliance’s DLC pulling a Shadowcat from the PSN store and disappearing through a wall. The incrimental expansion that included Psylocke, Cable, and Carnage simply vanished into an alternate Earth without any warning. The lovely image above demonstrates that while grandparents do love their grandchildren immensely, they aren’t exactly keeping current on the latest videogame releases while sipping herbal tea on the sandy beach outside their Florida condo. So the next time you drop hints to your grandparents, make sure you are as specific as possible. In other words, if you want the Modern Warfare 2 videogame for the [insert platform here], spell it out, or like the kid in this ..read the full article
Ice-T has made it fairly well known to those who care to follow his interests, that videogames rank pretty high on his list of favorite things, but it wasn’t until he decided to post a TwitPic showing off his multiplayer accomplishments in a session of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, that we got a glimpse at his impressive gaming skill level as “LORD 187X”.

Remember last year when a few million copies of Spore were pirated and everyone had a fit? Well, stand aside for 2009’s ‘winner’. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for the PC has been torrented approximately 4.1 million times. Add that to the 970,000 illegal downloads for the Xbox 360 version and Infinity Ward is looking at over 5 million copies of their game in the hands of people who didn’t give them a cent.
The runner-ups for the PC include The Sims ..read the full article
I wasn’t at all impressed with the 2009 VGA trailer for Activision’s True Crime. I somewhat enjoyed the previous two games in the series, but the voices, character rigidity, and somehow-superhuman movement in the trailer just didn’t impress me. A press release for the game just hit my inbox, and while I can’t say it changes my opinion of the game, it’s a bit more information than the trailer gave us.
The game is set in Hong Kong, with an open-world ..read the full article
The latest Video Game Awards mystery game teaser video features what one can only assume is a police officer tossing his badge off the top of a building in a Hong Kong setting. The badge itself reads “Hong Kong Police” and the video narrative paints a picture of a cop sacrificing his life as a cop and a person to go undercover.

The Sci-Fi fans just shed a tear for what could have been. In an interview with GamePro, Modern Warfare 2 scribe, Jesse Stern, admitted that Infinity Ward actually considered a far fetched alien, and even undead, scenario for their latest CoD sequel:
“In the beginning we talked about having things in Modern Warfare 2 like outbreaks, viruses, chemical warfare, and even outlandish things such as aliens and the living dead,”
Guess those “CoD on Mars” rumors back in 2008 had at least ..read the full article
If ever you wanted more proof that Activision just can’t get enough of the Call of Duty franchise, here it is. It now seems that two dedicated teams and a yearly sequel release isn’t enough for the publishers overactive CoD drive.
The tail end of a LA Times article discussing the sheer magnitude of Activision’s Modern Warfare 2 launch reveals that, in addition to Infinity Ward and Treyarch, a third mystery team has been signed to create yet another CoD ..read the full article
The last few seconds of a multiplayer team deathmatch can really suck for the players who are already dead and left with nothing to do but watch and wait. It sucks even more when you’re one of the two players left standing, and you’re facing an inevitable draw because the other bastard is no where to be found.
Well, here’s a pro tip for anyone who finds themselves in the aforementioned predicament … go John Rambo on their ass! That’s right, ..read the full article
Despite the in-game terrorism scandal and the dedicated server protesting debacle, rock solid developer Infinity Ward out did themselves again. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 flew off store shelves like cupcakes at an over-eaters anonymous gathering. Mmm cupcakes.

Jon Christensen, Founder of Slash Gamer, and Jim Steyer, Common Sense Media CEO, recently appeared on the FOX morning show “Fox & Friends” to give their stance on the uber violent “terrorist” activities in Modern Warfare 2. The segment was titled “A game that lets you play as a terrorist?” and pitted Jon as the defender of video game content, against Jim, the defender of our precious and highly impressionable children. Here are the highlights:

Activision’s highly anticipated Modern Warfare 2 can already be found on a multitude of internet torrent sites (so I’ve been told), but the quick work of Dallas based IPCybercrime (hired by Activision) helped move one cyber-thief out of his spacious gadget filled hacker pad into something a little more “cozy”.
