While it comes as no surprise to many, Take Two announced today that Rockstar’s upcoming action title L.A. Noire has in fact been delayed until next year.

L.A. Noire is now looking at a release date somewhere in the first half of 2011. That’s a whole lot of release dates, so hopefully we’ll get something more concrete soon. After blowing through Mafia II, I’m itching to take my 1940s-era action to the west coast. In the game, players will experience “an ..read the full article

spider-man-shattered-dimensions-600x337 “Look Out…Here Come the Spider-Men!”  The newly released trailer for Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is awesome!  What especially impresses is the different styles in art and gameplay shown for the four displayed playable characters.  It looks to be a promising return to the days of pre-movie Spider-Man Game webslinging fun.   The player will be able to control four versions of Spider-Man, spanning the Amazing, Noir, 2099, and Ultimate universes.  Each character has different moves, abilities, art-style and personality.  Because of the variety and ..read the full article

With Castlevania: Lords of Shadow getting ready to drop, it’s interesting to take a look at its rating: M for Blood and Gore, Nudity and Violence.  Did they just say “Nudity”?

“This is an action-adventure game in which players control a warrior named Gabriel as he battles the forces of darkness. Gabriel uses a bladed whip as well as large hammers, swords, spears, and axes to kill human and fantasy creatures (e.g., werewolves, vampires, goblins, demons). Are you tired of the same old pre-order goodies? Art book? Nah. Making-of video? Puh-lease. Figurine? No thank you. Maybe all you want is the ability to give the game’s female characters larger breasts. Is that too much to ask?! Apparently not.

For pre-ordering Virtual-On Force for the Xbox 360, which will hit Japan on December 22nd, SEGA is offering a “fetish code” which will allow you to play virtual surgeon to Fei-Yen and Angelan, deflating and inflating their breasts at ..read the full article

batman

Batman: The Brave and the Bold, despite being geared towards younger audiences, is not a bad cartoon. As long  as you don’t go in expecting the Dark Knight from, well, The Dark Knight, you can definitely enjoy yourself as they revel in the inherent campiness of the caped crusader.

The upcoming videogame adapation looks like it could easily be just as fun, especially when you consider it’s the same team behind the shamelessly fun and adorable A Boy and his Blob ..read the full article

mafia2

UNICO National, the largest Italian American service organization in the USA, has lashed out at the upcoming Mafia II, calling it “a pile of racist nonsense” and asked that the game be not be released. Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick has responded.

UNICO claims that Mafia furthers the stereotype of “organized crime being the exclusive domain of Italians and Italian-Americans.”

Zelnick, despite being told to “fuggedaboutit,” (just kidding, I made that part up), responded by saying that steps were taken to avoid stereotyping ..read the full article

Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics’ most recent entry into the Tomb Raider franchise is a significant departure for the series; even the name has changed from Tomb Raider to Lara Croft. Fans of the series will notice the change the instant the title boots up, with a menu screen styled after a graphic novel. The game retains that graphic novel feel throughout.

This game is beautiful. The environments are alive with motion, every level has a rich backdrop. You’ll travel from ..read the full article

Sony’s had a pretty busy day today, as their Gamescom press conference has been filled with more reveals and trailers than we ever could’ve hoped for. Hopping on that bandwagon is a new trailer for inFamous 2, where we get a bigger look at the action and destruction Cole causes in the game.

I’m loving the freeze-frame pan through the game, and I wish more trailers took such an approach. We’re bound to see more actual gameplay closer to the launch ..read the full article

If there is one Sony-exclusive property I absolutely love the most, it’s Ratchet and Clank. Since the first game came out for the PS2, I’ve played and loved almost every game in the series. That said, you can understand why I’m absolutely ecstatic that Insomniac and Sony are releasing Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One next Fall for the PS3.

All 4 One’s biggest feature seems to be the 4-player online and local co-op that it touts, along with having four ..read the full article

If you didn’t see Resistance 3 coming from a mile away, then you need to work on your skills of deduction. Sony and Insomniac would be stupid not to release a second sequel to the blockbuster hit from 2006. While I’ll be waiting with baited breath for a good look at the shooter, for now, Sony has dropped a live-action teaser trailer for the game at Gamescom. (Excuse the poor quality, as it was ripped straight from a feed of ..read the full article

Monday Night Combat is a class-based third person shooter that borrows elements from Team Fortress 2 and Defense of the Ancients and successfully melds them into a fun XBLA title with a unique feel that’s only slightly weighed down by some unfortunate difficulty and balancing issues.

Monday Night Combat is a future spectator sport where loss of human life is acceptable, if not encouraged. The player(s) must prevent their Moneyball from getting destroyed by the opposition, and there are ..read the full article

scott-pilgrim

When the Scott Pilgrim movie was announced, I went back and read the series, which I personally found to be good, but not great. Then I caught the movie, and enjoyed it so much that I made the trip to a movie theatre 30 minutes away so I could see it again. And now, completing the Scott Pilgrim trifecta (“Every Pilgrim must reach the end of his journey…”) is a game of the same name, taking the Scott Pilgrim story ..read the full article
