The combination of EA Games and BioWare has Mass Effect 2 reaching two million sales worldwide since its release this past Tuesday. EA wasted no time declaring the sequel the first “blockbuster of 2010″ in a press release that hit our box not long ago. BioWare co-founder, Ray Muzyka, stated the following:

“Mass Effect 2 is poised to be one of the biggest games of 2010 … We could not be more proud of the game’s universal acclaim and early commercial success.”

This is more of the same, as sequels seem to be selling well right on through the economic rut. Now if we can just find a way to sprinkle a little more of that love on new IPs…
